When buyers choose a custom build experience with London Bay Homes, they benefit from the professional level of collaboration and customization the award-winning homebuilder is known for. Whether they build on one of London Bay’s homesites or a site of their choosing, the result is a custom home designed both to make the most of its homesite and to exceed all expectations.

“Quite simply, we can help homeowners build the home of their dreams in the location of their dreams,” said Mark Wilson, president and CEO of London Bay Homes. “Our brand promise of “Private Label Living” is a philosophy, a process and a personalized approach to homebuilding.”

In Naples, a pair of recently completed custom private homes demonstrate London Bay Homes’ mastery in satisfying their most discerning clients. First-time Naples homebuyers Scott and Jody Verson found their ideal homesite along 4th Ave. North with London Bay Homes’ sales executive Toby Cloutier.

“We visited the lot together, and then proceeded to the since-sold Watlington model to see how it might translate to their site. They were very impressed with the quality, interior design and finishes throughout the home,” said Cloutier. “They also liked the fact that London Bay Homes could manage all phases of the design and build process.”

To translate the Verson’s dream into a reality, London Bay Homes’ Michael Faulhaber handled architecture while Romanza Interior Design tailored interiors with a blend of contemporary and transitional aesthetics.

“The couple own a business together in the Midwest, and they wanted a shared office space in their new home,” said Senior Design Director Jennifer Stevens. “We were able to custom design two desks for him, and one for her, to fit their needs. He uses two computer screens, so he wanted a more open design, while she wanted more space for files and some built-ins.”

While work space was important, the home also reflects the couple’s desire for a Naples home built with entertaining in mind.

“We designed a two-story gas fireplace in the great room, with seating all around it and a lot of architectural detail, and created a multilevel bar near the outdoor kitchen,” she added.

“We were able to incorporate their wishes, and the extra lot space has also allowed for a fantastic outdoor living area and pool – elements that were at the top of their “must have” list,” said Cloutier.

The owners are completely satisfied with their Private Label Living experience.

“When we started with London Bay, it was just great from the first day, and everything has met or exceeded my expectations,” said Scott Verson. “The team has been just incredible and trustworthy. I really would not know how to build another house, unless it were with London Bay again, as I can't imagine anyone being as good.”

Chicagoans Rob and Cathy Funderburg agree. They bought an Old Naples homesite within walking and biking distance of shopping and the beach and assembled a London Bay Homes-led team including MHK Architecture & Planning and Romanza Interior Design. MHK incorporated the features they wanted for their home on their relatively intimate homesite, including an open western exposure, and then London Bay Homes delivered a custom-building experience from concept to completion.

“In terms of teamwork, listening to the client, incorporating their ideas, making suggestions that add value, reporting, and keeping things on schedule, London Bay is the best I’ve ever worked with,” said Rob Funderburg.

For their home’s interior, the Funderburgs relied on the expertise of Romanza’s Jennifer Stevens. With Stevens, the couple felt they discovered a true design partner who not only offered her own suggestions, but also asked for and listened to their ideas.

“Jennifer was terrific,” said Cathy Funderburg. “We were never rushed into making any decisions. We were given plenty of lead time to think about something or to go over photos or magazines we’d clipped.”

The admiration was mutual.

“The Funderburgs brought really clear ideas of what they wanted in their home’s interior design,” said Stevens. “The whole process, from concept to completion, was really a collaborative team effort. For example, we designed the wine room in deep grey and gold, and incorporated a favorite piece from American artist Jennifer Barlett that was important to Rob and Cathy.”

Through the Funderburg’s white-on-white home, charming details abound – from a wood-painted tile pattern floor in a guest room sitting area, to a beautiful plaster range hood and show-stopping marble island in the kitchen.

Of course, the spectacular gulf views informed much of the home’s design, including the upstairs lounge and terrace, as well as Rob’s office. Weiland sliders in the main living room open wide to an outdoor living area that boasts a sparkling pool with blue-and-white circular patterned tile.

“I’m looking forward to having friends and family enjoy our home with us,” said Cathy Funderburg
