Written by Arelys Alexander | October 3, 2018

The 2018 Sand Dollar Awards presented by the Collier Building Industry Association’s Sales and Marketing Council is an exciting time for the design and build teams at London Bay Homes.  It is during this event, and others like it, that the hardworking team at London Bay Homes, and the teams from our luxury partners, get recognized for their achievement in the Southwest Florida housing industry.  During the 2018 CBIA Sand Dollar Awards, those achievements were recognized as being the best in building, design, and more with 18 different Sand Dollars Awards.

London Bay Homes accepted 13 Sand Dollar Awards for their luxury model homes, as well as being honored with the Marketing Director of the Year award earned by London Bay’s Director of Marketing, Win Peniston, for his work in the innovative “I Choose Mediterra” campaign for Mediterra Naples, the most coveted luxury home community address in Naples FL.  This marketing campaign also scored the win for Best Newspaper Ad, Best TV Commercial, Best Video Presentation, and Best Overall Campaign.

As for the luxury model homes recognized for excellence, the Southwest luxury home builder’s models in Port Royal, Old Naples and Mediterra Naples brought home the win for their exquisite architecture and design.

Luxury Custom Home at 4395 Gordon Drive

Located in the luxury waterfront neighborhood of Port Royal, London Bay Homes’ two-story luxury custom home at 4395 Gordon Drive received Product Design of the Year in the $5,500,001+ category, Best Master Suite ($200,001-$250,000), Best Kitchen Design (over $250,000), and Best Outdoor Living Area (over $50,000).  It features 4,667 square feet of living space with four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms.  The open floor plan includes a spacious great room and adjoining kitchen and dining area, as well as a study, wine cellar, elevator, and a second-floor loft with morning kitchen.  Homeowners and guests can access the elevated outdoor living area through the great room’s wall of stacking sliding glass doors and relax in the great outdoors with a summer kitchen, linear pool and spa, and a private body dock with access to the Gulf of Mexico through nearby Gordon Pass.  This home also includes membership eligibility in the exclusive Port Royal Club and Cutlass Cove Beach Club.

London Bay Homes’ luxury partner, Romanza Interior Design, was also recognized for this luxury model home for the creation of its interior design, a sophisticated West Indies-Coastal design that blends honed stone and wood plank flooring, accent panels of exotic woods like sapele, anigre and walnut, and distinctive reglet details on walls and door frames.  This Naples interior design firm received the Interior Design of the Year award, as well as two Trade Partner Awards for their design contribution to the home’s kitchen and master suite.  Congratulations for a job well done goes to Romanza interior designer, Jennifer Stevens, for her tremendous work on this exquisite model home.

The Watlington in Old Naples

The Watlington luxury home located at 41 5th Street South received the award for Product Design of the Year in the $4,500,001-$5,000,000 and Best Kitchen ($150,001-$200,000).  This Old Naples home features 4,182 square feet of living space with four bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and one half bathroom.  The luxury home’s open floor plan blends the great room, dining room, and luxury kitchen, as well as allows for a smooth transition to the home’s outdoor living space.

The Watlington’s interior design features a focus on connectivity between spaces and entertaining with a beautiful coastal contemporary design with bright turquoise and green and coral accent pieces designed by Jennifer Stevens of Romanza Interior Design.  Stevens also opted for backlit beams and a glimmer of metallic and reflective surfaces, as well as ample upholstered furniture and casegoods for comfortable seating for entertaining and conversation. Other highlights of the home include a blue-flame glacier crystal linear fireplace in the dining room, rich ombre draperies in shades of blue, a large rustic oak and antique nickel table with seating for eight, and ash wood flooring.  The kitchen, which was pinpointed for its design, features a large kitchen island with a cantilevered countertop and storage and an additional sink and casual seating.  A nearby butler’s pantry offers even more space for stocking party essentials.  The colors and accessories in the kitchen are kept to a minimum to provide a streamlined, clean look.  These design aspects earned Romanza Interior Design the Interior Design of the Year award, as well as a Trade Partner Award for their contribution to the home’s kitchen.

The Sonoma in Mediterra Naples

The Sonoma model located in London Bay Homes’ Caminetto neighborhood in Mediterra Naples also drew attention from the judges, receiving Product Design of the Year Award in the $3,000,001-$3,250,000 category and an Interior Design of the Year Award for its furnishings and finishes designed by Romanza Interior Design.  The two-story home’s 4,421 square feet of living space features a great room plan with an adjoining gourmet-inspired kitchen and dining room that offers easy access to the home’s outdoor living space with its beautiful lake and nature preserve view.  The outdoor space makes the most of the view with an intimate covered terrace that leads to the outdoor living, dining, and kitchen area.  An appreciation for nature can also be found in the master bedroom’s French double doors that lead to the pool patio, overlooking a custom pool with large sun shelf and spa.  Homeowners can also access a private garden shower located just outside the master bathroom.
