Since acquiring the remaining home sites and assuming sales and marketing responsibilities for Mediterra in December 2009, London Bay Homes has continued to invest heavily to communicate the benefits of the Mediterra lifestyle to affluent home buyers. Mediterra is also membership owned, and has recently added new amenities such as an expanded outdoor dining, additional tennis courts, and a new bocce area, all without any new assessment to its members.
Located along Livingston Road in north Naples, the community includes two 18-hole Tom Fazio-design championship golf courses, limited to just 225 members per 18-holes. Other amenities include a private Beach Club with dining and a second-story pool located on the Gulf of Mexico, a 25,000 sq. ft. clubhouse with two restaurants, Sports Club with tennis, fitness and spa facilities, and more than eight miles of bicycle and walking paths connected to three distinctly themed community parks. The 1,700-acre master planned community will have no more than 950 homes and offers over 1,000 acres dedicated to golf, parks and nature preserves.
London Bay President Mark Wilson said he was honored to accept the award which is judged by home building experts across the state of Florida. "Buyers are clearly recognizing the value and incomparable lifestyle of Mediterra. Since our acquisition and the membership’s purchase of the Club’s assets, almost $173 million in real estate has been sold, making Mediterra one of the best selling high-end country club communities in Southwest Florida," Wilson said.
"For anyone who has not visited Mediterra recently, they need to take another look. The values, and selection of homes and home sites, are quite impressive," he added.
Since 2009, London Bay has marketed the community through print and broadcast advertising, with a new website and collateral materials, and a newly re-designed sales and information center. "Mediterra’s lifestyle amenities are as fine as any in the region," Wilson said. "Our job is to carry this message to prospective home buyers."
The winding roads and lush landscaping of Mediterra are reminiscent of the European countryside, and its various neighborhoods each possess a unique character which honors the overall theme of the community. In addition to London Bay which is the community’s largest land owner, there are eight other luxury builders participating in Mediterra’s Preferred Builder Program. Homes in the community are priced from the $500s to more than $7 million and there are many professionally decorated model homes to tour.
Wilson praised Mediterra’s Board of Directors for their accomplishments in creating a financially strong club. "In this economy it is critically important to manage a club’s assets in a responsible manner. The club’s staff has also done a remarkable job of providing their members with a wide range of programs that appeal to people of all ages and creates a great sense of community," Wilson added.
London Bay is celebrating its 21th year in the Naples market and has developed its reputation building custom homes in many of the area’s most exclusive neighborhoods and communities. In 2008, the company was one of just two companies that earned recognition as "America’s Best Builder" from the industry’s leading publication, Builder Magazine. The company builds custom, semi-custom and intimate Village neighborhoods from Marco Island to Sarasota priced from the $500s to more than $10 million.
