NAPLES, Fla. (March 27, 2013) – A recent expansion at The Tavern Bar & Grill at The Club at Mediterra added a summer kitchen and – along with the enhanced space – an expanded menu of gourmet brick-oven pizzas, seasonal salads and open-air grilled entrees.
The Tavern opened to club members in January 2011 after a membership survey revealed the desire for casual gathering areas outside the 25,000-square-foot clubhouse. The venue offers a large cypress and granite bar, flat-screen TVs and multi-tiered seating with views of the Tom Fazio-designed South Course’s finishing hole. Canvas and roll-up windows provide shade and breeze-welcoming openness.
The Tavern quickly became a hit with Mediterra’s club members, necessitating the expanded facilities, according to Tom Wallace, general manager and CEO of The Club at Mediterra.
“Our members enjoyed getting together at a casual, outdoor location where they could experience our great weather with good friends,” Wallace said. “Now we can offer an expanded menu for the 2013 season.”
Mark Wilson, president of London Bay Homes – which manages homes sales for Mediterra – said the amenities are a significant part of the reason the community has been named seven times as the Collier Building Industry Association’s Community of the Year.
“Mediterra offers one of the most comprehensive amenities packages in Southwest Florida,” Wilson said. “It has two challenging Fazio golf courses, its own beach club on the Gulf of Mexico, and a beautiful clubhouse. The club is member-owned and financially secure. People buy a unique lifestyle at Mediterra that is complemented by unique homes and intimate neighborhoods.”
London Bay Homes, a leader in the Naples luxury home market for more than two decades, was one of only two companies named America’s Best Builder by Builder Magazine in 2008.
In addition to The Club at Mediterra and the 10,000-square-foot Beach Club, the 1,700-acre master-planned community, offers an array of lifestyle amenities, including themed neighborhood parks; eight miles of walking and jogging trails; a fitness complex with tennis and bocce courts, swimming pool and spa services. The club features formal and casual dining prepared by a staff of award-winning culinary experts.
Mediterra’s Golf Learning Center offers indoor and outdoor hitting stations, video equipment with launch monitor, a 2.5-acre short game practice complex with three greens, and a staff of certified PGA professionals. Membership opportunities at Mediterra are limited to just 225 members per 18 holes.
Planned for fewer than 950 homes, Mediterra’s master plan includes more than 1,000 acres dedicated to open space with golf, parks and nature preserves. All of the community’s amenities are membership-owned.
Since December 2009, London Bay and affiliates have managed all new home sales and marketing for the luxury community. London Bay recently expanded services by adding Mediterra Realty, which lists resale properties throughout Mediterra.
Available home designs in Mediterra include single-family estate homes and single-family maintenance-free villas priced from the $700,000s to more than $7 million.
