SARASOTA, Fla. (May 27, 2014) – Modern classic interior design with soft blue and green accents against white and gray backgrounds will showcase the livability and versatility of one of London Bay Homes’ newest maintenance-free villa floor plans in Matera at The Lake Club in Lakewood Ranch.
London Bay is the exclusive builder in Matera, a private gated neighborhood of 35 maintenance-free homes.
The three-bedroom Carina, offering 3,248 square feet of living space, features interiors by Michael Scott of Romanza Interior Design and blends modern and traditional, light and dark.
The model offers formal living and dining rooms, a study, family room, three full baths and a powder room. It is shown with several options, including a butler’s pantry/wine bar, three-car garage, architectural stonework, full summer kitchen, pool and spa within 4,743 total square feet.
The floor plan emphasizes openness and outdoor living and overlooks a preserve, providing views through large expanses of windows and 10-foot sliding glass doors in the living room, kitchen and family room.
The Carina’s white and gray backdrops are introduced in the foyer and living room, where Scott combines white painted walls and bright white moldings on 13-foot tall ceilings with stone-like flooring – 16-by-24-inch pearl-gray porcelain tile installed in a running bond pattern. The tile provides continuity from room to room and is used throughout most of the home.
The study has a wide-planked maple floor with a dark brown finish and offers a simple desk and upholstered desk chair in dark gray. The pattern of an upholstered swivel chair and matching ottoman emulates peacock feathers in shades of brown and gray. A red side table adds a splash of whimsical color. The ceiling is accented with crown molding and beams.
The nearby master suite is light and bright with lots of windows and custom woven window shades. Its headboard and footboard curve in and are stained to show the grain of the dark wood. The dresser has the same finish and offers a center row of four smaller drawers with a black finish.
A bench on caster legs is upholstered in a textured neutral fabric. Painted crown and applied moldings accent the bedroom’s tray ceiling; the four-light chandelier ceiling fan combines wrought iron and a chestnut wood finish.
The master suite also offers his-and-her walk-in closets and a large master bath featuring pearl-gray porcelain tile floors. The tile also covers the surface and deck of the large soaking tub and the shower, which has a hand-held sprayer. The bath offers his-and-her vanities with painted finish cabinetry, autumn-hued quartz countertops and a vanity stool upholstered in a textured gray-brown fabric. The room has a private water closet and four wrought-iron wall sconces with a silver-leaf mirrored finish.
The Carina’s two guest rooms offer walk-in closets, ceilings with painted wood crown molding and private full baths with bisque-finished cabinetry, autumn Giallo ornamental countertops, and custom pencil chair rail in showers.
One of the rooms has a king-size bed with wood headboard and base – a boxy look repeated in matching nightstands with splayed legs. Its bath offers a walk-in shower.
The second guest room’s twin beds have white headboards accented by onion-shaped finials and lattice and are flanked by wood nightstands. An upholstered chair has a scooped back and neutral tweed-like fabric.
The modern vibe with classic accents continues into the living room with a contemporary-styled sofa covered in blue-gray upholstery and the dark woods of a clean-lined coffee table with metal legs and end tables.
The adjoining dining room has a round wood table with splayed legs, and the blocked pattern of its six upholstered chairs introduce aqua, sage green and gray. The beamed ceiling has a circular inset and a six-light chandelier with a washed wood finish.
The Carina’s floor plan plays up openness between family room and kitchen, and the butler’s pantry connects dining room to kitchen and offers cabinetry and an under-counter wine refrigerator.
White quartz countertops in the eat-in kitchen complement the dark finish of floor-to-ceiling flat-panel shaker-style cabinetry. An extended island provides seating for four at bar chairs upholstered in a solid saddle-hued fabric and accented with nail-head trim. The three lantern-like lights of historic nickel-finished pendants illuminate the eating area.
The kitchen offers a ceramic backsplash in an urban putty hue and GE Monogram stainless steel appliances, including a six-burner range, wall oven, microwave and side-by-side refrigerator.
The family room’s gray upholstered sofas feature classic styling. Accent tables have a rustic wood finish, a TV credenza features a textural fluted front and the cocktail table provides storage underneath for an ottoman upholstered in the same solid color as the kitchen’s bar chairs. A dark woven chair adds a touch of the tropics, its patterned cushions repeating the tones of gray, aqua and sage. The ceiling is embellished with painted crown molding.
The floor plan flows outside to the covered living area and open pool deck, surfaced with Shell-Lock concrete pavers.
The built-in summer kitchen offers a stainless steel grill, refrigerator and sink and quartz countertops. Six chairs covered with all-weather gray-blue fabric provide seating at a rectangular stone-topped dining table with a chicklet border. The same fabric covers swivel chairs circling a round cocktail table in a conversation grouping.
The model’s free-form pool has a pebble finish and a raised tiled spa. Four chaises create a resort-inspired setting with sling fabric and glazed chocolate drum-shaped stools as tables.
The floor plan offers multiple elevation options. The model’s exterior architecture features a two-story entry tower clad in decorative stacked stone, a metal inset grill and bronze-colored windows.
As part of The Lake Club, a private club community within 1,500 acres of lakes, parks and open spaces, Matera residents enjoy a Tuscan-inspired clubhouse offering spa and concierge services, a family-friendly free-form resort pool and Junior Olympic pool with eight lap lanes.
Residents of The Lake Club enjoy a one-mile-long park, scenic stone bridges and three championship golf courses at Lakewood Ranch. Homes within the community are built to environmentally friendly standards for energy efficiency, clean indoor air quality, sustainability and drought-resistant landscaping.
The Lakewood Ranch community has a main street with shops, restaurants and offices, five total golf courses, and polo and cricket leagues. It also offers A-rated schools, a hospital, medical centers, an athletic center with fitness, aquatics and 18 lighted tennis courts, and more than 150 miles of sidewalks and trails, community parks, lakes and nature preserves.
