Naples-Marco Island ranked the 6th wealthiest metro area in the nation

There are countless reasons why the Naples area is a highly-coveted destination for both tourist and future residents alike.  According to a new release by the Bureau of Economic Analysis, the Naples-Marco Island area ranked as the sixth most affluent metro area in the nation, with a personal income of $59,264 per capita. The national average was $41,560. Approximately 53% of personal income in the Naples area comes from dividends, interest, and rent, suggesting high involvement in investment and real estate (where the national average is approximately 16%).  As mentioned in a report by Naples Daily News, this type of investing is common in areas with a higher percentage of seasonal residence and higher retirement population in which “passive wealth” is a source of additional income.
