NAPLES, Fla. (July 13, 2016) – London Bay Homes has been named an Aurora Award honoree in six categories in the annual Aurora Award competition presented by the Southeast Building Conference and Florida Home Builders Association, which honors architectural design, interior design and planning excellence. The competition draws entries from throughout the Southeastern U.S. and Eastern Caribbean.

London Bay Homes earned honors for a model home featured in Mediterra, the Capriano, which was recognized for best custom home in the 4,000 to 6,000 square foot category. Nestled within Lucarno – a village neighborhood inspired by the charm and classic style of Europe’s Mediterranean region – the four-bedroom, single-family luxury villa has won numerous awards.

The Capriano’s 4,402-square-foot open floor plan unravels from the foyer, sweeping from the great room, dining area and kitchen out sliding glass doors to an alfresco living area, where a trio of arches frame views of the infinity-edge pool and spa, fireplace and lake. An open staircase with decorative railing ends at a wet bar positioned to serve a second-floor loft and guest suite with balcony. An expansive sun deck offers a bird’s-eye view of the lake and gardens.

The Capriano sold for $2.4 million prior to its completion.

London Bay Homes, which oversees sales and marketing for Mediterra, was recognized for best community site plan, an award the company also won in 2013.

Two of London Bay Homes’ fully furnished residences near downtown Naples also received Aurora Award honors.

The Anguilla model home, located in the exclusive Park Shore neighborhood, was recognized for best single-family detached home in the 3,500 to 3,999 square foot category. Open for viewing only 11 days before it sold, the Anguilla achieved the highest price per square foot in the Park Shore submarket in recent history, nearly eclipsing the $1,000 per square foot threshold.

The Chelston model home in Old Naples was honored in several categories, including best single-family detached home in the 4,000 to 5,000 square foot category, best bath over $2 million, and best interior merchandising of a home over $2 million.

The three-bedroom, three-and one-half bath Chelston spans 4,227 square feet under air and blends West Indies and Old Florida-inspired architecture and design inside and out. The home offers a study, formal dining room, great room, first-floor master suite and a generously sized 1,284-square-foot second floor with a loft, wet bar and two guest rooms with walk-in closets and private bathrooms.

Memory points throughout the model include unique furniture pieces, the great room’s ceiling with beams and grass cloth-inspired venetian plaster, the convenience of an office and pantry connecting the kitchen and laundry room, and a private garden from sliding glass doors in the master bath’s shower.

Island-inspired interior design by Romanza Interior Design features natural walnut wood flooring in main gathering areas, clean-lined British Colonial and woven furniture and accessories, and a vibrant palette of rainforest citrus, teal, coral, butter and eggplant against off-white backgrounds.

The fully furnished designer home is located just blocks from the city’s famed Gulf of Mexico beaches and is one of several luxury models the builder is constructing from Park Shore to Port Royal.

Chosen from the elite pool of Aurora Award winners, Grand Awards will be announced on July 29 as a highlight of the SEBC, the southeastern regional conference and trade show for the real estate development field.

“Aurora Award winners reflect our industry’s best, brightest and most innovative architects, designers and builder/developers,” said Aurora Award Chairman Drew Smith of Two Trails. “We applaud them all, and we look forward to our July 29 celebration and recognition of Aurora Award honorees.”

Now in its 35th year, the Aurora Awards honor design and planning achievements in community and home design, green-built housing, site planning, commercial, retail, mixed-use development and specialty housing categories. Winners this year were chosen from more than 300 entries from across the region.

A leader in the Southwest Florida home market for 25 years, London Bay Homes has been named America’s Best Builder by Builder magazine. The company builds new luxury custom homes priced from $1 million to more than $10 million in many of the region’s most exclusive neighborhoods and communities. The company also builds private residences on individual homesites near downtown Naples, the Sarasota Keys and along the Gulf of Mexico.
