Romanza Interior Design, an award-winning full-service interior design firm, recently presented the second installment of The Sarasota Design Series – “High Point Highlights” with Melissa Allen and Jennifer Stevens at the newly completed Mandeville model by London Bay Homes in Spice Bay.

Allen and Stevens, an award-winning senior interior design duo at Romanza, shared styles straight from the 2018 Spring High Point Market, the largest home furnishing industry trade show in the world showcasing the latest in retail home furnishings and interior design from more than 2,000 exhibitors.

“Jewel tones were everywhere – color was featured prominently in both upholstery and accessories,” said Stevens.

Textural elements were also trending at High Point. “Whether through fabrics, furniture or lighting, texture adds dimension – both visually and from a tactile standpoint,” said Allen. “Jennifer and I like to layer texture in the rooms we design.”

Other trends included updated takes on traditional designs, mixed material furniture, and an emphasis on oversized lamps and tiny tables.

“Sleek and stylish martini tables were all around,” said Stevens.

The designers showcased design tips and trends that were incorporated throughout the Mandeville’s interior design, which features a transitional style blending classic and modern elements.

“An important part of our profession is forecasting trends and staying ahead of the curve so we’re able to offer clients the most up-to-date selections,” said Allen. “The Mandeville showcases many design elements we saw at High Point this spring, from the saturated jewel tones, to the judicious use of mixed materials and textures throughout the rooms.”

Located in the waterfront community of Spice Bay on Siesta Key, the Mandeville was recently awarded Best Overall by the Manatee-Sarasota Builder Industry Association at the Parade of Homes awards ceremony, where it also picked up honors for Best Curb Appeal, Best Kitchen, Best Master Suite, Best Floor Plan and Best Architectural Detail.

Romanza continues The Sarasota Design Series with “Outdoor Living: Bring The Outside In” on Tuesday, May 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. at London Bay’s Mandeville model at 1238 Sharswood Lane in Sarasota.
