A contemporary design aesthetic featuring exotic woods, streamlined furnishings and sleek wall paneling will be showcased in the interior design of London Bay Homes’ custom estate at 4395 Gordon Drive, a four-bedroom home being built in Port Royal.

The luxury homebuilder has selected Jennifer Stevens of Romanza Interior Design to fully furnish the two-story, 4,648-square-foot model home, currently under construction in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the United States.

Stevens’ interior design plan features dramatic artwork, wood and large-format honed stone flooring and accent wood panels that complement the West Indies architecture of the luxury custom estate.

“The contemporary style is recognizable in the clean-lined, large-scale upholstered furniture and in the sophisticated palette of finishes, including mixed metals, woods and leather,” Stevens said. “Backgrounds offer neutral tones in taupes and ivories, and accents span a range of nature-inspired tones of green and tans.”

Additional design features include recessed baseboards, rolling barn-style doors – one with art glass – and sculpted ceilings with backlit cove lighting. The custom estate also offers a three-car garage with a mechanical lift for a fourth vehicle.

“The design style is evident from the front door,” Stevens said. “Inside, accent matte-painted wood panel walls unite the foyer, great room, wine cellar, and showcase various exotic wood accent pieces; the study and powder bath reflect a similar design theme with traditional sapele, anigre and wenge wood panels.”

The home, part of London Bay Homes’ Naples Collection of single-site estates from Park Shore to Port Royal, offers an open great room, kitchen and dining area floor plan.

In the large great room, Stevens created two sitting areas, one featuring a wide sectional sofa with a built-in chaise upholstered in white-light gray tweed and accented with striated-patterned lumbar pillows, which create an elegant and comfortable spot to enjoy entertainment or the stunning view; the other features four smaller scale lounge chairs for cocktails and conversation.

The kitchen’s mix of white and high-gloss lacquer walnut cabinetry creates a contemporary look. The freestanding center island offers a cooktop, gallery-style double sinks and a cantilevered countertop with four modern bar stools finished with toffee metal, java walnut and charcoal-brown block-patterned upholstery.

The kitchen also offers glass-door cabinetry, a tile backsplash, side-by-side microwave and steam ovens above built-in single ovens, double Sub-Zero refrigerators and freezer drawers. It incorporates a butler’s bar offering a bar sink and refrigerated drawers.

The adjoining dining area features a ceiling with bronze metal-clad beams, motorized draperies and a metallic pendant above a rectangular dining table.

The custom estate’s first floor also offers a study, powder room, guest suite, pool bath and a utility room with front-loading washer and dryer.

A wenge-stained pocket door from the great room opens into the study. The room, said Stevens, “features paneled custom cabinetry that combines anigre and wenge, a dramatic backlit floating ceiling detail and wide-plank walnut wood flooring.”

The guest suite offers a leather upholstered bed with a lighter spice-finished wood frame, tan and ivory linen bedding, matching side table and nightstands with sleek acrylic and rich burl wood case goods, a pair of lounge chairs, and a wool geometric flat-weave area rug. The bedroom features German-made custom furniture quality closets in medium low-gloss white, accented with rift oak and a large dressing mirror. The private full bath has a waterfall vanity countertop, leather-look tile flooring and a frameless glass shower enclosure.

Additional memory points in the home include a vestibule adjacent to the wine cellar, featuring an elevator and custom staircase, the latter combining stained walnut brown handrails with clear tempered glass side panels and accents of brushed metal hardware.

“We’ve created a lot of spaces inside and out to enjoy the amazing unobstructed views,” Stevens said. “The master suite is located on the second floor to enhance its views, which are also enjoyed from the window-front tub in the bathroom.”

The master suite spans half of the second floor and includes a private terrace, a large double-entry oversized closet featuring Poliform custom cabinetry with built-in dressers and mirrors, and dual bathrooms.

The bedroom’s bed wall features a straw-colored upholstered chenille headboard framed in wood. The room features a palette of soft blues, blue-grays, charcoal and tan tones and simple patterned fabric. A custom motor lift, concealed beneath the bed, resides completely out of sight when not in use, and offers swivel capability and viewing opportunities from bed, chair or even terrace.

A wall of sliding glass doors opens to the private terrace, which features a linear fireplace, a chaise with a matching side table, and a collection of contemporary Dedon alfresco furnishings.

One of the master baths offers luxury marble and high-gloss cabinetry, Calcutta Borghini countertops and an oversized shower with a freestanding bench; a separate soaking tub positioned under the windows overlooks Cutlass Cove.

A second bath in the master suite offers rich granite countertops, floating wenge wood cabinetry and finely veined limestone surfaces on floor and shower walls. The shower offers rolling barn-style glass doors, body sprays and wall- and ceiling-mounted showerheads.

The second-floor VIP suite offers a custom king-sized bed and nightstand featuring walnut and etched-steel metal finishes, and a sitting area. The room features soft yellows and green and gray fabrics with subtle blue-green patterns, and a ceiling accented with custom wallcovering.

Its private full bath has a frameless shower with a cantilevered partial waterfall seat, stone flooring, rift-cut oak cabinetry, white-gray countertop, and glossy linear-patterned tile backsplash.

Furniture and fabrics in the second upstairs guest room provide contrasts with white and creamy white, dark woods and rich textures. The guest room’s private full bath also has a rolling barn-style shower glass door, charcoal vanity with waterfall countertop and stone-look tile floor.

Throughout the home, large windows and sliding glass doors showcase views of Cutlass Cove, and open to outdoor destinations featuring a large living area with an outdoor kitchen and two grills, including a circular EVO flattop built into the large freestanding island bar. State-of-the-art technology includes two 48-inch TVs, hidden audio and video equipment. and motorized draperies.

A custom pool offers in-water benches and a built-in spa with two spillways. The outdoor space also features grassy areas where comfortable chairs gather around a fire pit.

A peninsula with homes along the coves and back bays of Naples Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, Port Royal is considered a boater’s paradise. A private boat dock will provide access to the Gulf of Mexico through nearby Gordon Pass.

Expected to be completed in November, the custom estate at 4395 Gordon Drive is priced at $12,975,000, fully furnished. The estate includes membership eligibility in Port Royal Club and Cutlass Cove Beach Club.

The model is among several luxury floor plans created by London Bay Homes for the Naples Collection of on-your-lot custom homes and models. A second luxury custom estate is also under construction at 4375 Gordon Drive.
