The Founders Club, Sarasota’s premier golf and social club community, has appointed Mac DeCarle as executive chef.

With years of country club and local restaurant experience, he promises to be an exciting addition to The Founders Club management team.

Previously serving as executive chef at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, DeCarle has extensive experience in operational management in all areas of the dining experience and service. In addition to successfully operating the a la carte dining services for the club members at Concession, he also seamlessly executed events with guest lists of up to 600.

DeCarle also served as executive chef and catering director for more than a decade at the Beach Bistro at Holmes Beach on Anna Maria Island. During his time leading dining service, the restaurant received many accolades, including Zagat’s “Best Food on the Gulf Coast” recognition. While at Beach Bistro, DeCarle joined an exclusive group of chefs, including Wolfgang Puck and Emeril Lagasse. He was invited to cook at the James Beard House in New York City and was nominated as “Best Chef in the Southeast.”

A graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in political science, DeCarle was featured in Jack Nicklaus’s book “A Golden 18: A Showcase of Legendary Clubs Designed by Jack Nicklaus.”

The Founders Club offers expansive homesites overlooking picturesque preserves, lakes and golf course fairways. The Founders Club residents can enjoy a spacious, but intimate clubhouse featuring casual and fine dining, a full social calendar, along with a fitness center with the purchase of an optional Club membership. Also available to all homeowners are Har-Tru tennis courts, basketball and sand volleyball courts, and a picnic pavilion. The community features hundreds of protected live oaks and a natural habitat that attracts a variety of birds and wildlife.

The Founders Club is close to Sarasota’s famed Gulf of Mexico beaches, the University Town Center mall, and the acclaimed local restaurants, boutiques, and arts and cultural venues of downtown Sarasota.

The Founders Club now features five of Southwest Florida’s premier builders: Anchor Builders, Arthur Rutenberg-Nelson Homes, Lee Wetherington Homes, London Bay Homes and Nutter Custom Construction. Offering a variety of floor plans ranging from three-to-five bedrooms and 2,200 to more than 6,000 square feet of living space, the architectural style of the homes seamlessly blend with the aesthetic and natural splendor of the community. Home and homesite packages are priced from the $900,000s to more than $5 million.

Visitors can stop by The Founders Club Sales Center Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. located at 3001 Founders Club Drive, three miles east of I-75 on Fruitville Road, Exit 210.
