London Bay Homes has completed construction of a luxury private custom home on Gulf Shore Blvd. Designed by MHK Architecture & Planning, the expansive home maximizes gulf views and reflects the design aesthetic developed by its owners, Rob and Cathy Funderberg, working with senior design director of Romanza Interior Design, Jennifer Stevens.

“We decided to build our home here in Naples because of the unique blend of the beautiful weather, the friendly people, and so many things to do,” said Rob Funderberg.

The couple chose a homesite in Old Naples that puts them in walking and biking distance of downtown Naples and the beach, and assembled a London Bay Homes-led dream team that includes MHK Architecture & Planning and London Bay’s design partner, Romanza Interior Design.

The couple collaborated with MHK Architecture & Planning to incorporate the features they wanted for their home on their relatively intimate homesite, including an open western exposure, and then turned to London Bay Homes to deliver a custom-building experience from concept to completion.

“In terms of teamwork, listening to the client, incorporating their ideas, making suggestions that add value, reporting, and keeping things on schedule, London Bay is the best I’ve ever worked with,” said Rob.

For their home’s interior, the Funderburgs relied on the expertise of Jennifer Stevens of Romanza.

“The Funderbergs brought really clear ideas of what they wanted in their home’s interior design,” said Stevens. “The whole process, from concept to completion, was really a collaborative team effort. For example, we designed the wine room in deep grey and gold and incorporated a favorite piece from American artist Jennifer Barlett that was important to Rob and Cathy.”

Stevens employed a crisp white-on-white design throughout the home, including a guest room sitting area, to a beautiful plaster range hood and show-stopping marble island in the kitchen.

Spectacular gulf views informed much of the home’s design, including the upstairs lounge and terrace, as well as Rob’s office. Weiland sliders in the main living room open wide to an outdoor living area that boasts a sparkling pool with blue-and-white circular patterned tile.

“I’m looking forward to having friends and family enjoy our home with us,” said Cathy. “We’ve worked really hard at getting the space put together, and it is great!”

“When buyers choose to build a home with London Bay Homes, they end up with a residence that is truly custom made for them,” said Mark Wilson, president and CEO of London Bay Homes. “Whether they build on one of London Bay’s homesites or a site of their choosing, buyers have the chance to personalize their home at every step of the process.”

No matter where a buyer chooses to build with London Bay Homes, the company can create that same kind of custom designed-home tailored for both its homesite and its residents. “We can help homeowners build the home of their dreams in the location of their dreams,” said Wilson.
