London Bay Homes has been named an Aurora Award honoree in six categories in the annual Aurora Award competition presented by the Southeast Building Conference and Florida Home Builders Association, which honors architectural design, interior design and planning excellence. The competition draws entries from throughout the Southeastern U.S. and Eastern Caribbean.

London Bay Homes earned honors for a model home featured in Mediterra, the Catalina, which was recognized for Best Single Family Detached Home over 4,000 square feet.

The four-bedroom, five-bath estate home embodies a contemporary aesthetic that blends rustic and eastern influences, punctuated by Asian-inspired accessories and shapes. Priced at $4,250,000 furnished, the two-story, 5,288-square-foot under air Catalina model features a large great room that embodies open plan living, an island kitchen, and a café. The café opens to an outdoor space with an outdoor kitchen, an island bar, and ample seating while overlooking a resort-style pool, spa, and fire pit.

The master suite occupies an entire wing of the home and features sliding glass doors that open to a private trellis and patio. The master bath showcases a garden shower. The first floor also offers a formal dining room, bonus room and two guest suites. The second floor includes a loft, wet bar, a third guest suite, and a sunset overlook with seating, a linear fireplace, and preserve views.

Mediterra, which London Bay Homes oversees sales and marketing for, was also recognized for Community of the Year – Masterplan.

Mediterra offers intimate neighborhoods tucked into nature preserves, parks, lakes, a formal European garden, and the community’s two Tom Fazio-designed championship golf courses. In addition to a private Beach Club on the Gulf of Mexico, Mediterra offers eight miles of walking and jogging trails; a fitness complex with eight Har-Tru tennis courts, bocce courts, swimming pool and spa services; and a 32,000-square-foot clubhouse featuring formal and casual dining.

Two of London Bay Homes’ fully furnished residences near downtown Naples also received Aurora Award honors.

The recently completed custom, single-family estate at 4395 Gordon Drive, was honored with the Best Interior Detailing for a Home priced over $2,000,000 and Best Bath Merchandising of a Home priced over $800,000. Romanza Interior Design’s Jennifer Stevens created all interiors for the home.

Located near the southern tip of Port Royal, renowned worldwide for its peninsulas with mansions along back bays and coves and the Gulf of Mexico, the estate offers homebuyers the opportunity to take advantage of membership eligibility at the exclusive Port Royal Club and the nearby Cutlass Cove Beach Club.

Boasting 4,648 square foot of living space and four en-suite bedrooms within two stories, the home features West Indies-Coastal architecture and interior design that pushes luxury living to new levels.

The home’s sophisticated design blends honed stone and wood plank flooring, accent panels of exotic woods like sapele, anigre and walnut, and distinctive reglet details on walls and door frames to create a uniquely contemporary style that unifies the foyer, great room, wine cellar and study.

Lighting design paints rooms in different moods, highlights art and complements the airiness of a wood and tempered glass staircase.

“One of my most favorite aspects of this home is the master suite, which is located upstairs because it provides a wide pristine view of the water,” said Stevens.

The master suite spans half of the second floor and includes a private terrace, a large double-entry oversized closet featuring Poliform custom cabinetry with built-in dressers and mirrors, and dual bathrooms.

The bedroom’s bed wall features a straw-colored upholstered chenille headboard framed in wood. The room features a palette of soft blues, blue-grays, charcoal and tan tones and simple patterned fabric. A custom motor lift, concealed beneath the bed, resides completely out of sight when not in use, and offers swivel capability and viewing opportunities from bed, chair or even terrace.

Nearby, the Watlington model located at 41 5th Street South in Old Naples, and also featuring a captivating interior design by Jennifer Stevens of Romanza, received honors for Best Interior Design of a Home priced from $1,000,000 to $2,000,000 and Best Kitchen Merchandising of a Home priced over $800,000.

Stevens created a coastal contemporary look that includes specialty ceiling and wall treatments, wire-brushed ash flooring in main living areas, and wood tones mixed with polished nickel, glass, capiz, graphite, aged silver, metallic pewter, chrome and shimmering crystals.

Ash wood flooring, soft watery greens paired with crisp white beams against a pitched ceiling, a silver on gray area rug and shell white four-poster bed reference the coastal theme in the model’s master bedroom. The suite also has two walk-in closets and a French door to the pool and spa.

The study, overlooking the front of the home through large windows on two walls, offers a multifunctional workspace for the semi-retired professional or philanthropist planning the next Naples gala. A closet and adjoining full bath allow the room to be used as a fifth bedroom for visiting guests

Chosen from the elite pool of Aurora Award winners, Grand Awards will be announced on August 17 as a highlight of the SEBC, the southeastern regional conference and trade show for the real estate development field.

Honoring businesses in architectural design, interior design and planning, the Aurora Award competition drew 400 entries in 70 categories within the 12-state region stretching west to Texas and Louisiana, north to Virginia and also including the eastern Caribbean.
