London Bay Homes is continuing to expand its Sarasota Collection of custom luxury estates with its latest model in the waterfront Spice Bay neighborhood on Siesta Key.

The semi-furnished Somerset will feature a coastal contemporary design and finishes and furnishes selected by Luann Powers Gliwski of Romanza Interior Design.

Located at 1202 Sharswood Lane in Sarasota, the two-story Somerset features stunning garden views within the community’s lush tropical landscaping of palms and flowering plantings.

The three-bedroom, four-bath estate offers more than 5,000 square feet of air-conditioned living space, with an open floor plan featuring walls of sliding glass doors opening to the pool deck and a covered outdoor living space ideal for entertaining.

Powers Gliwski selected French oak flooring and an elegant array of light fixtures in silver tones to unify the Somerset’s great room-centered design that links the home’s dining room, kitchen, study and master suite with a cohesive feel.

The Somerset features detailed millwork, including beadboard, built-in bookshelves and beams in the entry stair wall, the great room media wall, and a gallery leading to an expansive master suite.

Floating beams and polished nickel pendant lights in the ceiling above the kitchen and adjoining dining area as well as a pyramid ceiling in the master bedroom articulate areas of architectural interest. Double doors open into the study, which boasts a beamed ceiling and pool deck access.

The gourmet kitchen offers white mist Pompeii quartz countertops with a smoked stiletto tile backsplash, an oversized apron edge freestanding breakfast bar island, and the convenience of the interconnecting wine room, separate pantry and office. The dining space opens to the alfresco living area, complete with outdoor kitchen and a full pool bath.

The Somerset offers a second-floor loft and family room, along with two additional guest suites with full baths affording plenty of privacy.

The master suite overlooks the pool and fireplace and offers a dedicated sitting area. The suite also has a large walk-in closet and adjoining dressing area. Its bathroom features a sophisticated polished nickel chandelier, a beamed ceiling, emerald quartz tops with dual vanities and a freestanding window-front soaking tub.

The Bahama blue custom linear pool features a sun shelf for chaises, along with a spa, raised glass-tiled wall with bronze scuppers, and a built-in planter. An outdoor fireplace is the perfect place to unwind at the end of the day.

The Somerset’s exterior will be accented with wood corbels, wood and aluminum awnings, parapets, and slightly cantilevered second-floor spaces. It also will have a three-car garage with individual wood doors.

The Somerset joins the Mandeville model in Spice Bay, an intimate eight-acre gated community of just 14 homes along the Sarasota Bay. Designed to maximize panoramic water views from every room and fully furnished by Melissa Allen of Romanza Interior Design, the Mandeville was recently honored with the Best Overall Award by the Manatee-Sarasota Builder Industry Association at the Parade of Homes awards ceremony.

The Somerset is just a short walk from the private docks along the Sarasota Bay. All homes have dock access, with 11 boat slips available to Spice Bay residents that lead directly to the Intracoastal Waterway. The charm of Spice Bay is captured in the lush tropical foliage, along with cobblestone roads that create a perfect setting for Spice Bay residents.
