Find Relaxation in Open Spaces with the Capriano in Mediterra Naples

by Arelys Alexander

A soft contemporary interior design throughout the open spaces of the Capriano model home in Mediterra will inspire the start of your relaxing Florida lifestyle.

The Capriano is a luxury, two-story villa model by London Bay Homes featuring four bedrooms and four bathrooms in its 4,402 square feet of living space.  It is located in Lucarno, a 71-home maintenance-free villa neighborhood in Mediterra that is reminiscent of an intimate European village with cobblestone streets, lakes, and gardens.  The beauty of the neighborhood is transferred to the new Capriano model through a stone-clad wall at the driveway, a lighted entry courtyard with a seating area, and architecture accented with precast stone, wood rafters, and caviar-hued metal detailing. It also has a trellis above the walkway to the front door.

Tasked with reinforcing the tranquil surroundings of the Capriano home, Jennifer Stevens of Romanza Interior Design created a soft contemporary look on the inside, illustrated by furniture forms, lighting fixtures, wood and metal tones, and bright accents of green, orange, melon, and yellow throughout the home’s open floor plan design.  The Capriano features distressed and natural wood finishes combined with metal, hammered iron and contemporary forms as found in the family room, where end tables are highlighted by floating shelves and the coffee table offers a frosted glass top and grid-patterned legs.  Gold lighting fixtures, a patterned area rug, and bright orange, melon, and green cushions add to the appeal of the unique contemporary design in the home’s main living space.

The master suite continues the contemporary look of the home, but tailored back to be a bit subdued.  You are still able to see Stevens’ use of geometric patterns in the hallway console and the mixed use of wood and metal tones in the light washed-wood dresser, shagreen accented nightstands, and the upholstered headboard encrusted with black nickel nail-head trim, but the bright tones found in the main living areas are replaced with a terracotta, gray, and cream palette found in the armchairs, cushions, curtains, and artwork.  The master bathroom features glass partitions that offer views of a private garden from the freestanding tub.

The library/study also shares the subdued nature of this contemporary design with a leather chair with brass nail head and a tiered accent table with floating shelves. The main colors of the master bedroom can be seen in the two patterned swivel armchairs.  Round the corner of the study and you’ll see an open staircase leading up to the second floor of the home.

The second floor of this luxury villa begins with a wet bar, positioned to serve the guests in the third guest suite, game room, and sitting room.  The sitting room features doors leading out to a private outdoor space with a large sundeck and a view of the front yard, including the lake and parks beyond.  The sundeck offers four woven armchairs and chaises and gets the brightened version of the contemporary design with soft red, orange, and yellow cushions and accessories.

Pocket sliding glass doors in the library/study and great room with a linear fireplace and wine bar open up to the main outdoor living area and summer kitchen.  Head past the outdoor living area through the trio of arches and you can see a custom pool and spa overlooking a lake and Mediterra’s Parterre Gardens.  The outdoor space brings out the contemporary look found inside and brightens it up with soft reds, oranges, honeysuckles, and yellows in striped, floral, and patterned cushions and accent pillows.  A two-car garage and a detached single-car garage complete the total area of this luxury single-family villa home.

The Capriano is an award-winning home design in Naples, FL, with Jennifer Stevens having won  an Aurora Award from the Southeast Building Conference for a previous Capriano model.  She says that the Capriano lends itself to many interior design interpretations and lifestyles because the floor plan’s open spaces allow owners to express their personality.  Discover your interpretation of this exquisite floor plan by scheduling your tour.

The Capriano is located in Mediterra Naples, a luxury home community and 10-time winner of the Collier Building Industry Association’s Community of the Year award.  This luxury golf and beach community in North Naples will feature no more than 950 condos, villas, and single-family homes within its 1,697 acres.  Miles of walking and bicycling paths connect neighborhoods and parks, while members enjoy 36 holes of Tom Fazio-designed golf, a private Beach Club on the Gulf of Mexico, a Sports Club with a full calendar of fitness activities, tennis, and fine and casual dining at its elegant Clubhouse.  The Clubhouse employs a full professional staff that keeps everyone entertained with a regular schedule of unique activities.
